WORK FROM HOME WITH COACH GRANT - Are you just an advertiser or are you a marketer?

If you are an affiliate marketer there is something very basic that you must understand if you wish to succeed in your online business.  Are you just an advertiser or are you a marketer?  Do you know what the difference is?  If you don't, then take the next minute or two to find out.  Why should you do that?  The answer is simple.  Understanding the critical difference between advertising and marketing will make the difference between success and failure.

It is a fact that, overwhelmingly, most people who try affiliate marketing fail.  Why is that?  I am going to suggest to you that the single most important reason is that most people who try the affiliate marketing game start out as advertisers.  The reason why most people fail is that they never go beyond being just an advertiser.  They never learn how to become marketers.

If you are an affiliate marketer, you will quickly discover traffic exchanges and safelists as ways you can promote your affiliate business or products.  Most people get stuck advertising their affiliate business on these types of platforms and some post links to their businesses on social media sites as well.

Now I am going to suggest something to you that is going to rock your world if you are an affiliate marketer.  The traffic exchange for example, as a business model, is fundamentally flawed.  Now let that sink in for a moment.  Many of you will spend countless hours surfing for ad credits on one or more traffic exchanges.  You then apply those ad credits to the link, banner or text ads you have on that particular platform.  The trouble is...now listen to this...no one wants what you are promoting!  That's right.  No one wants what you are promoting and that is why most people fail as affiliates.  Let me explain that.

On a traffic exchange, you surf for ad credits by looking at other people's ads.  So let me ask you a question.  When you start your surfing session, are you looking for other people's businesses?  No you're not.  Your primary aim is to generate ad credits so you can promote your own affiliate marketing opportunity.  And there is the key.  Surfers aren't looking for other businesses.  Surfers are looking to generate ad credits so they can promote their own affiliate marketing opportunity.  They don't want what you are promoting!

So if you have an affiliate website, banner ad or text ads on a traffic exchange, you are advertising the program represented by those ads.  Remember that people don't want what you are advertising.  They want ad credits to promote their own programs.

People do business with other people who they know, like and trust.  So if you're an affiliate marketer, how do you get people to know, like and trust you?  You must learn how to become an effective marketer!  Once again, remember that people don't want what you are advertising.  People do business with those who they know, like and trust.  So the bottom line is that people who promote themselves, who take the necessary steps to build their brand, those are the people who have learned to market themselves.  And an effective marketer can take any affiliate program and be successful with it.

Become a marketer.  Promote YOU.  Build your brand.  Give people reasons why they should get to know, like and trust you.  When you take this path...well...now...and only now you are on the road to affiliate marketing success.
